Sarah Palin: Whore of Babylon Watch.

Phonier than a roll of wooden nickels, more destructive than a toxic waste spill, less sophisticated or knowledgeable then your average middle school student, Sarah Palin, aka The Whore of Babylon, addressed adoring throngs at the Tea Party convocation in Nashville with these stirring words, "This movement is about the people." Well, no, actually it's about a group of approximately six hundred people who had the wherewithal, if not the good judgement, to dole out in excess of five hundred dollars each to attend a convention that included, as a key part of the festivities, a speech by The Whore of Bablyon herself, who was paid a princely six figure sum to appear.

Thanks, again, John McCain, for opening up Pandora's Box and unleashing one of the worst scourges upon the political landscape anyone has ever had the displeasure of experiencing. It will be your lasting legacy.

Yeah, it's pretty sickening.

I'm not worried about Palin, though. Wall St has its dream president in Obama, and if they did ever want a real fascist (that is, if there ever did exist a real leftist movement that actually frightened them), I imagine they'd want somebody who wasn't a complete idiot.

(In that case, we'd probably be better off with her. The Bush administration accomplished less than it could have thanks to its incompetence.)

I've been wondering if Palin wasn't foisted upon McCain precisely in order to ensure he'd lose. (If I were a Wall St corporatist I certainly wanted Obama, not wacky McCain with that unpredictable temper.)

Oh well, either way he's responsible for his own campaign. To hell with him.

Obviously I don't share your lack of concern. There is no circumstance where Palin becomes a political decision maker that will not entail disaster of a sort I don't even want to contemplate. One could easily argue that any situation that brought Palin to power would be evidence enough that things had already gone horribly wrong, but not so wrong that she couldn't make it worse.

Without getting too weird, I refer to her as TWOB for a reason, since, to my mind, she represents an energy of a very negative sort. The Shrub, as ghastly as he was, couldn't hold a candle to it, but that's just my opinion.

If you mean she seems not just wicked but actually crazy, and that having her near the button would be dangerous in a special way which it wasn't with Bush, I agree.

When I say I'm not very worried I mean that I think Wall St feels the same way and wouldn't let her get into that position.

If teabaggerism really became so big and so crazed that it had a serious chance of making someone like her president, I'd expect TPTB to prevail upon Petraeus or someone like that to "save the situation" one way or another.

We already hear alot of buzz on the blogs about Petraeus in 2012. he may be planning to do that regradless, but at the very least the idea is supposed to be anti-teabagger insurance, since he could probably co-opt them even if any conventional Republican couldn't.

Of course Wall St prefers a conventional spineless corporate president, Dem or Rep.

I'm not exactly sure how to put it, but she's crazy and wicked. In Boston they might say wicked crazy.

Funny how none of the combinations are mutually exclusive.

Seriously though, I think she's creepy to a degree even the average "I'm seeking the highest office in the land" maniac pol doesn't often reach. Imagine someone with her lack of absolutely everything one ought to have at least a smidgen of, experience, knowledge, connections, sophistication, (Bush was bad enough,) even thinking they were qualified for the position.

I realize that, more often than not, what we get are rubes and mountebanks in the Oval Office,
but Sarah Palin brings the idea of unfit for office to another dimension.

Palin, like an opponent in a sporting match who should have long since been finished, but, for some reason, isn't, hangs around. And as long as TWOB does, I feel a sense of discomfort or worse.
