I call your attention to a brilliant piece of analysis of the twisted logic and grotesque style of argument employed by criminals like, in this instance, Goldman Sachs.
I wonder if, by balls, he meant, chutzpah or nerve, as opposed to courage? Perhaps I'll ask him. Sociopaths often seem like they have "balls" when they do and say outrageous things, but they are able to do and say anything, because they have no conscience.
I took it to mean "he has some nerve." Clearly the tone of the piece was one of outrage that someone could have the temerity to defend the criminal actions of the big banks.

The author was dead on when he said, "This takes balls," when referring to the defender of big bank bullshit.
